Creating opportunities for individuals with disabilities to pursue their love for creating and performing music in a professional ensemble setting.

We Create
Music Together

Hearts For Music is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to provide opportunities and avenues for individuals with special needs wanting to pursue their love for creating and performing music in a professional ensemble setting. At the core of Hearts for Music is an orchestra made up of 20 to 25 children and/or young adults with a variety of special needs. By manipulating and playing a combination of acoustic instruments, digital instruments, and adaptive instruments, the Hearts For Music Special Needs Orchestra will tackle a broad range of musical works ranging from classical symphonies to modern pop and rock.

Transforming disabilities into abilities.

Our Inclusive Orchestra is open to ALL individuals with special needs.

While our youngest musicians are 6–8 years of age and the oldest is in her 60s,

there is no age limit. No experience necessary!

"Our children are ambassadors — not only for their communities — but for every person with a disability who's been underestimated and overlooked."

“Seeing the different individuals faces light up when they hit a note for the first time, and they’re making that sound, it’s really amazing to see."

Listen to
Our Musicians

In addition to their musical endeavors, the Hearts for Music orchestra aims to shatter barriers between different disability groups. By encouraging friendships and social interactions across age and disability boundaries, they’re tackling one of the biggest challenges faced by individuals with special needs: social isolation.

If you close your eyes and hear a C note on a piano, you cannot see the disability, you only hear sound. The disability disappears. This is the basic principle behind Hearts For Music.
